Gendered Clothing Statement

We believe kilts are for everyone. We acknowledge that in a historical context kilts have traditionally been a mens garment. But that history isn't fully written. Today, kilts are worn by people of all gender identities. And we're here to support it.

In our main cargo kilt styles, we offer two design fits:

Our Micro (12 inch), Mini (15 inch), and Knee-Length (19 inch) Cargo kilts feature a tapered waist designed for bodies with a waist-to-hip differential of 7-13 inches. But these fits can certainly be worn by people whose bodies do not conform to these measurements – the Versatta waistband accommodates a wide range of sizes and builds.

Our Standard (23 inch) and Big & Tall (25 inch) Cargo kilts are straight-waisted. Designed for those with waist-to-hip differentials of 7 inches or less, including those with a waist that is larger than their hips.

On our site, we refer to the tapered waist fit as Femme / feminine and the straight waist fit as Masc / masculine. This represents the generally understood description of the body type these kilts were designed around. To reduce search friction and increase accessibility, we also tag each Femme kilt as "Women's" and Masc kilt as "Men's".
